The United States is providing intelligence and information support to Ukraine to continue trying to return Crimea, Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Kyiv, said John Kirby, White House National Security Council coordinator for strategic communications.
According to CNN, Kirby noted that we are talking about the territories that became part of Russia after 2014. However, he did not specify what kind of intelligence data in question and how it is transmitted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but noted that to a large extent this information “is intended to help <…> them to defend their territory.”
“We do not allow or encourage Ukrainians to strike outside of Ukraine,” Kirby added.
Recall that Russia annexed Crimea nine years ago, in the spring of 2014, based on the results of a referendum. The results of voting in Ukraine, in the USA, China and most other countries of the world were not recognized. President Vladimir Putin called the issue of the territorial belonging of the peninsula closed.
