If some items can simply deteriorate when stored in the bathroom for a long time, others can become harmful to health. According to Doctor Peter, a dermatovenereologist, trichologist Alena Romanova told what things are better not to keep in the bathroom for a long time so as not to harm yourself.

1. Textile products. In the bathroom, it is permissible to keep only those towels that you use right now. But for storing the same towels, linen or bathrobes, this room is not suitable. Even if you have a wardrobe allocated for these purposes. Due to too high humidity, the fabric will constantly dampen, and mold may form on it over time. This is fraught not only with damage to linen, but also, most importantly, problems with the skin, mucous membranes and respiratory organs.

2. Cosmetics and makeup brushes. Women should give up the habit of storing both decorative cosmetics and makeup brushes and sponges in the bathroom. In the material of such accessories, not only the remnants of cosmetics accumulate, but also particles of dirt. Together with moist air, they will become fertile ground for the growth of bacteria, which will later get on the skin and provoke inflammation.

3. Toothbrushes. If the bath is combined with a toilet, their storage should be approached with special care. When flushing water in the toilet bowl, an aerosol cloud with particles of our waste products rises into the air. Aerosol bacteria can land on your toothbrush and then enter your mouth. If you have a combined bathroom at home, it will be useful to consider storing the brushes in a case or in a special cup with a lid.

4. Medicines. For some, the habit of storing medicines in the bathroom was inherited from older generations. However, medicines should be kept in a dry, dark and cool place, sometimes even in the refrigerator. By arranging a first-aid kit in a cabinet above the sink, you risk shortening the shelf life of the pills and reducing their effectiveness.

5. Face masks. Storage in the bathroom is not suitable for some cosmetics. For example, face masks and patches are best kept in the refrigerator. In the bathroom with its temperature fluctuations, they deteriorate much faster.
