Clothing stores previously owned by the Spanish retailer Inditex (brands Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Oysho, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti) will open in Russia in April-May. According to RBC, this was announced by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Yevtukhov.
The Russian business of Inditex, after its withdrawal from the Russian market, was bought by Fashion And More Management DMCC “with an office in one of the friendly countries.” The company with the same name is registered in the free zone of the United Arab Emirates – Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. The new owner will open outlets under the specially created brands MAAG (Zara), DUB (Pull & Bear), ECRU (Bershka) and VILET (Stradivarius).
“Collections with new tags have already been sewn and brought to Russia. All stores are ready for the opening, which should take place in April-May,” Yevtukhov said.
On April 4, a video with MAAG showcases at the site of a Zara store on Kuznetsky Most in Moscow appeared on Telegram channels and the media. Another store of this brand is planned to open in the metropolitan shopping center “Aviapark”, said Vasily Grigoriev, director of the CORE.XP market research department.
In February, Nadezhda Tsvetkova, head of CORE.XP retail space leasing, told RBC Life that the first Zara stores will open in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and then appear in other regions.
The company decided to close 269 out of 514 Inditex stores in Russia permanently, it was planned to sell only 245.
