The police detained two residents of Volgograd on suspicion that they shot a woman for the sake of an apartment, and the body was hidden in a well, the regional Investigative Committee of the RF Investigative Committee reports.
According to the department, on April 1, a resident of Volgograd turned to the police and reported the disappearance of her 61-year-old sister: the woman did not return home after work. A criminal case was initiated under the article “murder”.
Using recordings from CCTV cameras, investigators established that the missing woman entered the courtyard of her house on Novodvinskaya Street on the evening of March 30. Later, her personal belongings and traces of a brown substance were found at this place. Investigative actions led to the identification of suspects, they were 62-year-old and 50-year-old men.
During interrogation, the 62-year-old suspect told investigators that he planned the murder of the woman because of his desire to take possession of her apartment, which was the subject of legal proceedings between them. According to the man, his friend agreed to help in the murder. The attackers waited for the woman in the courtyard of the house in the car, then the 50-year-old man shot her in the head with a pistol, after which the victim’s body was taken to the village of Seleznevka and hidden in a well.
The suspects have been arrested and the question of their arrest is being decided.
