The US authorities have prepared a new $2.6 billion military aid package for Ukraine that will include aerial surveillance radars, anti-tank missiles and fuel trucks, Reuters reported, citing three US officials.
Presumably, new deliveries will be announced on Monday, April 3. According to the interlocutors, the content and cost of the package may still change. At the moment, it is assumed that it will include various types of ammunition, including for tanks, aviation and NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems, as well as repair and recovery vehicles for disabled heavy equipment.
The majority of the $2.1 billion package is from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), which allows President Joe Biden’s administration to buy weapons from businesses rather than from U.S. stockpiles, Reuters reported. The agency recalls that since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, the United States has announced military support for Kyiv in the amount of more than $30 billion.
