Coffee has a positive effect on the liver, helps prevent liver cancer. This was reported to Gazeta.Ru by gastroenterologist Anna Sviridova.

She recalled that the condition of the liver is significantly harmed by the abuse of alcohol and drugs, excess fat in the body, as well as the reproduction of fat in the cells of the body. Inflammation, which can damage the cell membrane, is closely associated with fatty liver. At the same time, she added, drinking coffee contributes to its recovery.

“Coffee beans contain chlorogenic acid. When it is absorbed through the bloodstream and enters the liver with the bloodstream, it helps repair damaged cells of the vital gland, ”said the physician, adding that coffee is a source of antioxidants that reduce the risk of liver cancer.

According to Sviridova, adults can drink up to 300 milligrams of coffee per day, which is about four cups. The doctor advised not to add heavy cream and sweet ingredients to coffee – this is not good for the liver at all.

In addition, the expert recalled that coffee has the ability to “wash out” microelements (iron, calcium) from the body. People with iron deficiency anemia, osteoporosis, a problematic thyroid gland should drink the drink with great care (it is better for them to consult with their doctor about this).
