The popularity of working professions in St. Petersburg is growing: the competition for colleges and technical schools is often higher than for prestigious universities. This was announced by the speaker of the Legislative Assembly Alexander Belsky following the results of the meeting of the Industrial Council of the city.
The operation of the staffing program for the industry was discussed. “It is necessary to attract new specialists, to establish interaction between the education system and the employer,” Belsky explained.
According to him, now the specialist is returning to the institutes, and more and more students are mastering professions related to the real sectors of the economy.
As the speaker noted, the Parliament provides all possible support to these processes. “This includes job quotas for young professionals and social preferences for students. A draft law is currently in the works to expand admissions for targeted training in technical universities and colleges. All deputies supported the concept of creating training and production complexes, where you can get work experience before graduation,” said Alexander Belsky.
He said that the St. Petersburg parliament has another idea – the introduction of a tax cashback for patrons who help higher and secondary educational institutions.
