The second wave of mobilization is not planned to be carried out in Russia. According to Interfax, this was stated in the Russian General Staff.
“I want to assure you all that the plans of the General Staff do not include a second wave of mobilization,” said Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, a spokesman for the main organizational and mobilization department of the General Staff of the Russian Federation.
“Those who have already been called up for military service, as well as citizens who have voluntarily expressed a desire to participate in the operation, are quite enough to fulfill the assigned tasks,” he said.
“At present, the number of citizens who have decided to voluntarily enter military service under a contract has also increased significantly. For their timely registration, the Ministry of Defense expanded the network of selection points for the contract and increased the number of instructors to work with candidates,” Tsimlyansky said.
“Work on recruitment for the contract continues in close cooperation with the state authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation,” said a representative of the General Staff.
Since September 21, 2022, partial mobilization has been carried out in Russia. On October 28, 2022, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu informed President Vladimir Putin of the completion of mobilization measures. On November 4, 2022, Putin announced that 318,000 people had been mobilized as part of a special military operation.
