The Polish Internal Security Agency has detained three more suspects of involvement in espionage activities in favor of Russia. According to TASS, this was stated by the press secretary of the minister coordinating the work of the Polish special services, Stanislav Zharyn.

“The Homeland Security Agency has identified new people who were operating as part of a previously identified spy ring. We are dealing with detainees who have been charged with espionage and participation in an organized criminal group,” he said, adding that the total number of detainees in this case has reached twelve people.

“We are talking about people who acted as part of a group controlled by Russian special services. They carried out specific tasks of the Russian special services in terms of both traditional intelligence activities and propaganda. This is a whole network that included people who received tasks to collect information about routes and transportation for Ukraine, but these people also distributed specific content that was ordered by the Russian side and is part of the current agenda of active propaganda activities against Poland,” Zharyn said.

In early March, the Polish Internal Security Agency detained nine foreigners, who were then charged by the prosecutor’s office with espionage for the Russian Federation, as well as participation in an organized crime group. Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said that the suspects allegedly “carried out intelligence activities against Poland and prepared acts of sabotage on the orders of Russian intelligence.” Officially, the Polish authorities did not report the nationality of the detainees.

On March 22, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told reporters that Warsaw was offering Minsk to exchange the detained Belarusian citizens. According to him, the Polish authorities arrested five Ukrainians and three Belarusians, but no one proves or shows anything.
