Harrison Salcedo’s violent death occurred on April 28 when the lawyer was driving his truck to his office.
An evaluation and preparatory hearing for the face-to-face trial is what the judge who is in charge of the criminal process against the three suspects of being involved in the murder of Harrison Salcedo, lawyer called who represented former vice president Jorge Glas and the dejected leader of Los Choneros José Luis Zambrano, alias Rasquiña.
On November 11, the preparatory hearing for the trial in this case was postponed, due to the change of lawyer for one of the three defendants. The new date for the diligence is November 30 next, at 09:30, in one of the rooms located on the fourth floor of the North Judicial Complex, in Quito.

The violent death of Salcedo occurred on April 28 when he was traveling aboard his truck on his way to his office. Occupants of a dark green car attacked moving with shots at the vehicle that was driven by the lawyer, causing him immediate death. The truck having no one to guide it collided with a glass fence of a car dealership from República and 6 de Diciembre avenues, north of the city.
Those prosecuted for the murder are Luis Iván C., Darío Gabriel S., aliases the Chinese, and Elvis Faián C. The prosecution of this case began on June 1 last with the arrest and filing of charges of the taxi driver Luis Iván C., 46 years old.
Hours after the hearing on November 11 was postponed in Quito (Pichincha), in Manta (Manabí) the attack on Emilio B. was recorded, who was supposedly a protected witness within the Harrison Salcedo process. Apparently the shots were intended to end the life of the witness and he was only wounded. Who did die in the attack was the one who accompanied Emilio B. in the restaurant in the center of Manta, Gabriel Z.

From what is known, Emilio B. would also be being investigated for an alleged illicit association in which the Prosecutor’s Office linked Salcedo and his then client alias JL, murdered in December 2020 in a commercial center in Manta shortly after the aforementioned lawyer had obtained his release, on suspicion of corruption in the justice system.
