A court in St. Petersburg sentenced a citizen of Serbia to seven years in a strict regime colony, who was detained in the city in early 2021 for an attempted sale of 59.9 kg of cocaine. It is reported by TASS with reference to the prosecutor’s office of St. Petersburg.

“The prosecutor’s office of the Kirovsky district supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Kisic. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Attempt to illegally sell a narcotic drug by a group of persons by prior agreement, on an especially large scale”),” the report says.

In January 2021, while outside of Russia, Kisich planned to sell a large consignment of drugs in Russia with two accomplices. He purchased more than 59.9 kg of cocaine in St. Petersburg. FSB officers detained him along with accomplices while trying to transport goods.

Criminal cases against Kisich’s accomplices were separated into a separate proceeding. It is known that one of them agreed to a pre-trial agreement on cooperation and was sentenced by the court to six years in prison. With respect to the third defendant, the investigation is still ongoing.
