The case of a resident of the Vladimir region, who took away a phone from a friend in order to get money for alcohol, and then tortured the man with an iron in order to find out the password, reached the court, the regional prosecutor’s office reports.
According to the department, the man is charged under the article on robbery committed by a group of persons by prior agreement with the use of items used as weapons.
According to the case file, the incident occurred in September last year. The man at home drank alcohol with his friend and cohabitant, the criminal case against which was separated into a separate proceeding. When the alcohol ran out, the defendant took away the victim’s mobile phone and tried to find out the security password to unlock it, so that it would be easier to sell it. The owner of the phone refused to give the password, after which he was beaten and threatened to cut off his ear. In the end, the defendant “applied the sole of a hot iron to the body of the victim at least twice, causing the latter bodily injury in the form of a thermal burn of the chest and abdomen.”
Later, the victim was able to leave the apartment, and the cohabitants sold the stolen phone for 700 rubles. Now the defendant faces imprisonment for up to 10 years with a fine.
