With the onset of heat, we traditionally begin to cough and sneeze: the long winter, temperature changes and weakened immunity are to blame for everything. Therapist Natalya Prosyannikova told how not to catch the virus and feel good.

As the portal “Doctor Peter” writes, in order to survive the winter, a whole cascade of adaptive reactions occurs in the body in the cold. The length of daylight is reduced, and at the same time, the production of vitamin D decreases. Its deficiency leads to the development of: cardiovascular, autoimmune, allergic, inflammatory, tumor, metabolic diseases, including obesity and diabetes mellitus.

Vitamin D also affects the reproductive health of men and women, and blood cholesterol levels. Also in winter, the need for other vitamins and microelements involved in metabolic processes increases.

According to the expert, cold allergies can also appear in winter, bronchial asthma attacks occur more often, and chronic diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract worsen. Cold provokes heart attacks caused by spasm of the coronary vessels.

To protect yourself from infections as much as possible, the therapist recommends following a few simple rules:

Do not torture yourself with physical activity. To maintain physical activity, physical activity of moderate intensity is useful: 3 times a week for 30-40 minutes. The increase in physical activity should be gradual and not cause discomfort.

Eat properly. The diet should contain proteins, fats and carbohydrates, plus you need to drink enough fluids – up to 1.5-2 liters of water per day. No strict diets!

Wear a hat and scarf. Many fall ill in the spring simply because they do not know how to properly “undress” as it gets warmer. The legs and head should always be warm, and it is recommended to take off your hats not before the onset of positive temperatures. Remember: spring is very insidious, especially March and April.

Get enough sleep. A person should sleep for 7-8 hours. Immunity during sleep becomes stronger, the body recovers, the risks of getting sick are reduced.
