London will host a meeting of world leaders on March 20 to demonstrate support for the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, British Justice Minister Dominic Raab said on social media.
The meeting was organized by Raab and his Dutch colleague Dylan Esilgoz-Zegerius. It will be attended by representatives of more than 40 states, RBC reports. The conference will be opened by the speeches of the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuska and the country’s Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, as well as the prosecutor of the court in The Hague Karim Khan.
It is also reported that Britain will increase funding for the ICC to £1 million this year, expecting other states to also provide assistance and financial support.
Recall that the ICC issued a warrant for the “arrest” of Putin, as well as the children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova on March 17 in the case of the “illegal deportation” of children from the territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. The Kremlin called this decision of the court in The Hague “unacceptable”, and the official representative of the Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that it was “legally null and void.”
