In Kazakhstan, in the parliamentary elections, the preliminary voter turnout was 54.19%. According to Interfax, this was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Konstantin Petrov.
He added that out of 12,035,578 citizens of Kazakhstan with the right to vote, 6,521,860 received ballots.
The largest number of voters was registered in the Kyzylorda region (67.21%). In Astana, 42.91% of the citizens included in the lists used their right to vote, in Alma-Ata – 25.82%, in Shymkent – 45.46%.
“We are planning to sum up the preliminary results of the voting tomorrow. We will announce the exact time of this event tomorrow additionally,” Petrov said.
This is the lowest figure in at least the last ten years. In the last elections, 2021, the turnout was 63.3%, in the elections in 2016 – 77%, in 2012 – 75%.
Elections of deputies to the Majilis (lower house) of the Parliament and maslikhats (local representative bodies of power) at all levels ended on Sunday in all regions of Kazakhstan.
Members of the Central Election Commission of Russia, working as observers at the parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan, noted the organized work of the commissions; there were no violations of the electoral process, said Nikolai Bulaev, deputy head of the CEC of the Russian Federation. According to him, the CEC of Kazakhstan and the lower commissions have taken the necessary measures to prepare and conduct elections in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, which has undergone major changes on the eve of the elections.
