More than 1,000 residents of the city of Biysk in the Altai Territory took part in an agreed-upon rally against the increase in utility tariffs. This is reported by TASS with reference to the local branch of the Communist Party.
“Among the numerous points of the resolution, a demand was made for the resignation of the governor and an expression of no confidence in the deputies of the Biysk City Duma,” the report says.
The department noted that Biysk, which is one of the hundred largest cities in Russia, is one of the poorest. At the same time, tariffs in the municipality have been increased more than the norms recommended by the government, and the Siberian Generating Company, according to the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, uncontrollably forms prices for heat supply after the city leaves the tariff regulation zone in 2020.
Earlier, the first secretary of the Altai Territory Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, State Duma deputy Maria Prusakova in her Telegram channel said that for Biysk, by decision of regional and municipal authorities, the increase in heat supply tariffs should not exceed 11.4%, which is the maximum allowable deviation from the increase of 9 %. At the same time, according to her, for some residents of the city, utility bills increased by 20% or more.
In early December, the governor of the Altai Territory, Viktor Tomenko, during a direct line with residents of the region, said that in the event of an increase in housing and communal services tariffs above the limit set by the authorities, the population could apply for compensation for the difference.
