U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, and U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan had a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Defense Secretary Oleksiy Reznikov, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhny, and head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, as well as the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. This is reported by TASS with reference to the National Security Council of the White House.
The document, distributed by the council’s press service, notes that the participants in the conversation discussed “the continued support of the United States to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
“Ukrainian officials provided an update on the situation on the battlefield and expressed their appreciation for the ongoing US security assistance. American officials reaffirmed the continued support of the United States for Ukraine, which defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity. At the end, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky joined the conversation,” the press service said.
No further details of the negotiations are given in the document.
