Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to nominate Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for the Nobel Peace Prize for his great contribution to strengthening peace and security. As Interfax reports with reference to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, Berdimuhamedov said this in Ankara at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States as a representative of an observer country and a member of the Council of Elders of the UTC.
“He does a lot of work to ensure a peaceful life not only for his people, but for all Muslim peoples,” Berdimuhamedov said.
He noted Erdogan’s great contribution to the strengthening of peace, security and sustainable development on a regional and global scale, as well as mutual understanding and solidarity in international relations.
“Based on this, it is proposed to nominate the President of the Republic of Turkey for the Nobel Peace Prize, and we fully support all relevant proposals,” Berdimuhamedov added.
