A testing center for drone control specialists opened yesterday in St. Petersburg. This is the first institution in Russia where UAV operators will be able to obtain a certificate of their professional level.

According to MK in St. Petersburg, the institution was opened on the basis of a domestic manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems of an aircraft, helicopter and multi-rotor type – Automation and Programming Technologies LLC.

Such institutions are planned to open throughout the country in the future. The center will train specialists by analogy with a driving school. Here, applicants will be offered to confirm their skills by passing two exams – theory and practice.

The first test is allowed to pass by 75% – this is the passing threshold, after which you can count on a certificate. Practical exercises must be completed 100%.

The St. Petersburg center will examine those specialists who plan to operate drones weighing up to 30 kilograms. The exam will cost about 35 thousand rubles. The number of attempts is not limited, but you will have to meet six months. Before each exam, two video cameras will appear on the site, which will film the course of the test.

Aleksey Lvov, the first deputy chairman of the city Comtrans, noted that all participants in the sphere would actively cooperate with the center.
