Everyone feels annoyed at times. However, for some people, such irritability turns into a character trait.
According to psychologist Mikhail Labkovsky, if you notice irritability at all and wonder what you can do about it, this is already a good sign. So you realize that this behavior is not normal – and this is very good, he pointed out.
There are people who constantly find excuses for their complete inability to keep their emotions under control. They say that they just have such a character – well, or even explain their behavior with astrology: they say, I am such and such a sign of the zodiac, people like me are often annoyed, there is nothing like that. So what do you do if you really want to yell at your family and let go of all the negativity?
According to the expert, there is only one really working way to stop arguing with loved ones: shut your mouth and switch to your own business. You can also try calming hobbies like knitting or embroidery. The psychologist emphasized that the people around are not to blame for the fact that you are an impulsive person prone to outbursts of aggression. And if you cannot control your hot temper, then you are simply not a fully mature person.
If in life you feel the need to shout at others, to criticize them, even if you were not asked about it, this means that everything is very bad with self-esteem. Being annoyed and offending others, you are simply trying to rise up yourself, increase your importance and significance. However, it doesn’t really work that way, Labkovsky said. According to him, if you began to notice constant bouts of irritability for no reason, it’s time to work on your self-esteem. You can raise it only with the help of long-term work with your internal problems and conflicts. And at the expense of others, the situation will not be corrected.
