Washington believes that the Russian side found in the Black Sea part of the wreckage of the fallen American MQ-9 Reaper drone. According to CNN, the administration of President Joe Biden downplayed the significance of the drone wreckage or the possibility of obtaining any confidential information with their help.

The White House, however, assures that the US has made it impossible for the Russian side to collect any remains of intelligence value. They added that the floating parts of the drone have no value in terms of reverse engineering.

Recall that the American drone MQ-9 Reaper fell in the international waters of the Black Sea on March 14. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the device flew in the direction of the Russian border with the transponders turned off and entered the area of the “temporary regime for the use of airspace.” The drone lost control “as a result of sudden maneuvering” and crashed. At the same time, they emphasized in the Russian department, the Russian Air Force fighters accompanying him did not use airborne weapons and did not come into contact with the drone.

The United States notes that two Russian Su-27s intercepted an MQ-9 on a reconnaissance mission and dropped fuel in its direction several times. In Washington, they believe that one of the fighters hit the propeller of the drone, which led to the crash of the latter.
