On March 27–28, St. Petersburg will host the III International Children and Youth Ballet Competition of Classical Choreography – Ballerinka Baltic Sea II I Saint Petersburg. The event for children and youth will be held in the Northern capital for the third time.
Children from 4 years old and youth up to 35 years old from state, non-profit and commercial children’s and youth ballet schools of additional education, amateur classical choreography teams and creative teams (ensembles, theaters and studios) will show their talents.
The purpose of the competition is to create conditions for the involvement of children and youth in active socio-cultural activities, the preservation and development of performing arts, the transformation of Russian art into the most developed and attractive sphere of cultural and social life.
Participants will compete in nominations by age and direction: solo, duet, trio (classical and pop), modern dance, acrobatics and rhythmic gymnastics, characteristic dance and amateur ballet.
The jury of the competition will be headed by People’s Artist of Russia Farukh Ruzimatov. The evaluating experts will also include choreographer and ballet historian Olga Rozanova, Honored Artist of Russia Sofya Gumerova-Lazutkina, Mikhailovsky Theater Premier Ivan Zaitsev.

The State Hermitage has prepared a special prize for the winners of the Grand Prix and laureates of the 1st degree participating in the Gala Concert. They are waiting for an excursion and the quest “Egyptomania”.
The founder and organizer of the competition is the Propaganda and Revival of Russian Art Charitable Foundation with the support of the State Hermitage Museum. The sponsor of the competition is Ilya Kuznetsov’s Children’s Ballet School LLC.
The competition will be held on March 27 at the Epicenter on Moskovsky Prospekt, 57 A. And on March 28 – at the Hermitage Theater on Palace Embankment, 34.
