In the St. Petersburg art space mArs (Marsovo Pole, 3) on Thursday, March 23, a meeting with the translator Natalia Kolesova “Casanova’s 133rd Woman” will take place. The event will be held as part of the “Kvartirnik” project. The start is at 19:00.

The memoirs of the world-famous Venetian Giacomo Casanova (1725-1798) are a frank self-portrait of this tireless adventurer.

Natalia Kolesova studied his memoirs and translated selected chapters. In them, Casanova, whose name has become a household name, appears before us not only as a fiery lover, but also as an outstanding personality, a subtle, intelligent observer, who paints portraits of great people of his time with amazing accuracy: Louis XV, Cardinal Richelieu, King Frederick of Prussia, Jean -Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire, Empress Catherine II and Grigory Orlov. In his memoirs, he describes the life and customs of Paris, London, Berlin, Venice, Riga and St. Petersburg.

Natalia Kolesova will talk about another, unknown Casanova and reveal the features of this extraordinary personality.
