Syrian President Bashar al-Assad at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed support for the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. It is reported by Interfax.
“Now I want to take a moment, because this is my first visit since the special operation in Ukraine, to repeat the Syrian position in support of this special operation against neo-Nazis and old Nazis. I say that these are old and new Nazis, because the West, as it accepted the old Nazis in its land, now it supports them in modern times, ”Assad said at talks with Putin in the Kremlin.
At the same time, he noted that the position of his country is connected not only with the friendship between Syria and Russia. “Our position does not come only from the friendship and devotion that exists between us, our position comes from the fact that the world really needs stabilization now, otherwise it will come close to a big collapse,” Assad said.
He stressed that, despite the fact that Russia is now conducting a special operation, its support for Syria has not changed.
