Ukrainian refugees in Switzerland must sell their cars if they do not want to be left without social benefits, writes 20Minuten. It is noted that anyone who lives on social assistance, a year after arriving in Switzerland, must undergo a re-assessment check.

According to the rules of the Swiss Conference on Social Assistance, cars must be sold if their value exceeds the amount of payments, which, depending on the region, amount to several thousand francs. The funds received by the refugees should be used to meet their needs.

The Swiss cantons have now begun to implement this measure. In particular, in Lucerne, orders are sent to refugees to sell a car if its price exceeds the amount of the allowance, which in this region is four thousand francs (about 330 thousand rubles) per person or 10 thousand francs (824 thousand rubles) per person. family. A month is allotted for sale. Depending on the amount received from it, social payments are suspended for the appropriate time.

Authorities are implementing similar rules in other Swiss cantons, such as Bern, Basel-Stadt, Zurich and Aargau. Berne noted that jewelry and cash also fall under this law.
