Kidnappings, robberies, murders are, unfortunately, news that are read every day and that show the reality in Ecuador. Working together is an urgent task. So far this year, 60% of kidnapping cases have been registered compared to all those that occurred in 2022. The most recent was that of a couple in Quito, in which even two minors participated. One of them would also be connected to the murder of police officer Freddi Bonilla, committed in Esmeraldas a few weeks ago, the police indicated.

Meanwhile, Unase released three kidnapped drivers in Socio Vivienda over the weekend, in which at least 20 people were killed in Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón).
Articulated action of state authorities against delinquency and organized crime is necessary and must be planned and observed, because security – its main task – depends on all aspects of the functioning of society, from the peace of free movement to the generation of employment. No one who lives in fear of going out can produce or go to study in peace. (OR)
