In China, deputies of the first session of the 14th National People’s Congress held in Beijing elected vice-premiers, members of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, as well as ministers and heads of various committees. It is reported by Interfax.
Candidates for positions in the government were presented by Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang, who was elected to this post the day before.
Ding Xuexiang, He Lifen, Zhang Guoqing and Liu Guozhong became Deputy Premiers of the State Council.
All four previous vice premiers: Han Zheng, Sun Chunlan,
Hu Chunhua and Liu He retired.
Li Shangfu, Wang Xiaohong, Wu Zhenglong, Shen Yiqing, Qin Gang were approved as members of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.
Qin Gang also remained as foreign minister, he was appointed to this post in December 2022.
Li Shanfu was appointed Minister of Defense, Wang Xiaohong was appointed Minister of Public Security, and Chen Yixin, Liu Kun, and Wang Wentao, respectively, retained the posts of Minister of State Security, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Commerce.
Zheng Shanjie has been approved as Chairman of the State Committee for Development and Reform of the People’s Republic of China.
Yi Gang became the director of the People’s Bank of China (China’s Central Bank).
Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a decree appointing relevant persons to the above posts.
