In Podolsk near Moscow, a 16-year-old girl with stab wounds to her neck was found in an apartment; she died in an ambulance. According to RIA Novosti with reference to the prosecutor’s office of the Moscow region, the suspect in the murder was detained.
“In an apartment located in the city of Podolsk, a 16-year-old girl was found with a stab wound in the neck. The door to the apartment was locked, the victim was found lying on the floor by friends who got into the apartment through the open door of the balcony and called emergency services to the scene. Despite the assistance provided, the victim died in the ambulance,” the statement said.
The suspect was detained, “the court, with the participation of a representative of the prosecutor’s office, will consider the issue of choosing a measure of restraint for him.”
The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Moscow Region added that a suspected 18-year-old man living in Podolsk was detained “in hot pursuit” in Moscow. According to investigators, a man stabbed a friend in her apartment during the conflict.
The Investigative Committee notes that a crime weapon was seized at the scene of the murder. In addition, “interrogations are being carried out, a number of examinations have been scheduled, including forensic, psychological, psychiatric and molecular genetics.”
