An air raid warning is in effect throughout Ukraine, according to monitoring resources.
The alarm is announced for the second time in a day. On Thursday morning, local authorities and the media reported explosions in several regions of the country, including in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv and Odessa regions.
Energy holding DTEK reported on Telegram about serious damage to the equipment of three thermal power plants. The whole of Kharkov and part of the Kharkov region were left without electricity. In Kyiv, about 40% of consumers do not receive electricity, Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported on his Telegram channel.
The Russian Ministry of Defense later stated that Russian troops launched a massive “retribution strike” against Ukrainian targets, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missile system. According to the agency, key elements of the military infrastructure of Ukraine, enterprises of the military-industrial complex, as well as energy facilities that provide them, were hit. The ministry called the strike a response to the sabotage in the Bryansk region on March 2.
