The Turkish customs system blocks the clearance of the transit of sanctioned goods to Russia. Kommersant writes about this with reference to market participants.
The interlocutors of the newspaper complained about the problems in the transit of sanctioned goods that go to Russia under parallel import schemes. So, according to them, previously agreed booking flights began to be cancelled. According to agent notifications, the reason is that goods in transit for Turkey are no longer sent to Russia.
As the commercial director of Transasia Logistics, Valeria Savenkova, added, the Turkish authorities did not publish official orders and resolutions, since in this case they would have to admit the fact of deliveries of sanctioned products to Russia.
According to Kommersant’s sources, the stoppage of the transit of sanctioned goods is likely due to the recent visit to Turkey by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The Financial Times also wrote that the United Arab Emirates is also putting pressure on Turkey. They became the main supplier of electronics to Russia.
