Saudi Arabia has sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine worth $100 million, Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said on his Telegram channel.
According to Yermak, aid was sent by three planes. The delivery included warm blankets, hygiene products and 135 generators ranging from 20 to 400 kW. The items will be distributed in six regions to respond to the urgent needs of residents, the presidential spokesman said.
The agreement on the allocation of humanitarian aid was signed during a visit to Kyiv by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on February 26. He visited Ukraine for the first time since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries in 1993 and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. As a result, two documents were signed on the allocation of assistance in the total amount of $400 million: $100 million in the form of humanitarian aid and $300 million in the form of oil products.
This is not the first time Saudi Arabia has provided assistance to Ukraine. In October, the country already allocated $400 million to Kyiv.
