Almonds are often referred to as one of the healthiest nuts – they are rich in antioxidants, vitamin E, protein and fiber, help regulate blood sugar and cholesterol, and normalize blood pressure. But lovers of almonds should be aware that the use of this nut can have negative effects – primarily in cases where it is eaten in excess of the norm (30-35 grams per day), according to the Times of India.

So, with excessive use of this nut, the following consequences can be:

Digestive problems. Almonds can cause constipation, bloating, and indigestion if the dietary guidelines are not followed, due to their high fiber content.

Decreased absorption of nutrients. Many people know that eating fiber is very important for health. But a large number of foods containing it (almonds are the champion in this regard) interfere with the absorption of nutrients, including magnesium, calcium, zinc and others. It is harmful to abuse fiber, it does not allow microelements to be absorbed into the blood, binds them and removes them from the body with stool.

Weight gain. Almonds are rich in fats and calories: 100 grams of nuts provide 50 grams of fat. If you lead a sedentary lifestyle, addiction to almonds can harm your health by increasing the risk of fat deposition.

Allergy. Almonds sometimes cause oral allergy syndrome, in which there is a scratchy throat, itching around the mouth, swelling of the tongue and lips. In addition, nuts can cause an allergic reaction called anaphylaxis, a life-threatening condition.

Stones in the kidneys. Almonds are rich in oxalates, natural compounds found in plants. If oxalates enter the body in a significant amount, this can lead to the formation of stones and even to kidney failure.
