President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko linked the development of China with the well-being of Belarus. “If China is strong, our Belarus will be strong and develop,” he said at a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang during his visit to China.

According to the state news agency BelTA, Lukashenka stressed that Minsk and Beijing “have no closed topics for cooperation.” In addition, according to him, the parties “never set themselves the task of being friends or working against third countries, anyone.”

The Belarusian leader stressed that the country’s authorities are monitoring the situation in the international arena, and congratulated China on “calm, thoughtful movement forward.” He added that the PRC is going its own way, does not interfere with anyone and does not respond to “small bites either from the left or from the right.”

In turn, Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik said that during Lukashenka’s visit to China, Minsk and Beijing signed dozens of agreements and eight contracts in the industrial and agricultural fields worth $3.5 billion. At the same time, according to him, the signed package of bilateral documents ” opens up broader prospects for increasing these volumes in the foreseeable and near future.”
