In the Leningrad region, employees of the department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the regional Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation detained the head of the administration of the Kirishi municipal district.
According to the press service of the department, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainee for abuse of office and obstruction of legitimate business activities. The suspect, however, was not named in the statement. RBC clarifies that the post of head of the Kirishi district since November 2019 has been occupied by Oleg Dmitriev, who had previously worked in the prosecutor’s office for 27 years.
As reported, the case is connected with the improvement of the Coastal Park in Kirishi as part of the national project “Housing and Urban Environment” and an order for 160 million rubles. The work was financed with the involvement of funds from the federal budget, the budget of the Leningrad Region, as well as the municipal formation “Kirishskoe urban settlement”.
According to the case file, the Kirishi administration terminated the contract with the first contractor after he completed a significant amount of work, without making any calculations. As a result, the contractor suffered damage in the amount of more than 35 million rubles. Administration officials then entered into a similar agreement with the new company. At the same time, the scope of work already completed by the first contractor was included in the contract.
The preliminary investigation established that the head of the administration of the Kirishsky municipal district of the Leningrad Region gave the order to carry out illegal actions to his subordinates. He will be charged soon. The investigation prepared a petition to the court for the choice of a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
