There are always many reasons for concern – at any time and historical periods, people worry about health, safety, money and relationships with loved ones. How anxiety can actually harm us and how to stop being constantly nervous, said psychologist Victoria Dmitrieva.
According to her, writes Dr. Peter, most of our fears never become a reality.
“But because of the anxiety that torments us, we are more likely to fight, react impulsively, instead of acting reasonably. We are also trying to control everyone and everything,” she said.
The expert notes that constant anxiety prevents us from manifesting here and now, takes pleasure from each other in the moment.
“Our anxiety greatly harms self-realization, and relationships with loved ones, and the growing up of children, and even the health of our own and those around us,” warns Victoria Dmitrieva.
She also gave some advice on how to be less anxious.
Watch for anxiety. “Already one self-observation activates a part of the brain that helps to calm down,” says Victoria Dmitrieva.
Analyze your behavior. “Think about what you are doing to reduce anxiety, and ask yourself:“ Why do I need this? ”- advises the psychologist.
Interrupt automatic behavior. “You have already observed your reactions. Now we need to look for ways to help stop actions on autopilot, ”says the expert.
Focus not on external events and other people, but on yourself. “Think right now: what are you most worried about? For what area of life? Where exactly do you place your concern? asks Victoria Dmitrieva. It can be hard to let go of something that has become a habit. But life without anxiety is worth it.”
