State Department, Department of Commerce and Treasury impose new sanctions against Russia

The US Treasury has blacklisted 22 individuals and 83 legal entities from Russia and several other countries.

Also, as part of the sanctions, the “black list” of the US Department of Commerce was expanded. It included 76 new legal entities.

Restrictions were also introduced by the US State Department. Heads of dozens of Russian regions, nine ministers, including heads of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Sports, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation were subject to restrictions. Sanctions have also been imposed on Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova and presenter Olga Skabeeva.

Visa restrictions have been introduced against 1,219 representatives of the Russian Armed Forces. The Zaporozhye NPP fell under the sanctions.

In addition, Washington imposed sanctions against a number of Russian banks, in particular, MTS Bank, Zenit Bank, SDM-Bank. In total, 11 banks fell under the restrictions.

The Skolkovo technopark and related companies, as well as the Skolkovo and Skoltech funds, also fell under the sanctions.

The US Department of Commerce also expanded the list of goods classified as luxury goods in relation to Russia and Belarus. It includes 276 more items.

Starting March 10, a 200% duty is expected to be introduced on imports of aluminum and aluminum products from Russia. Export restrictions will apply to the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia.

Companies from China, the Netherlands, Canada, France, and Luxembourg have also been sanctioned by the US Department of Commerce.
