The death toll from the earthquakes in Turkey was 43,556. According to TRT Haber, this was announced by the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country, Suleiman Soylu.
“We are responsible to every dead citizen. This trauma can only be overcome through unity and solidarity,” Soylu said.
He added that after the earthquake on February 6, 7930 aftershocks occurred, more than 600 thousand separate sections were demolished or are subject to demolition.

After February 20, almost all rescue work related to earthquakes was stopped in the country – they continued only in the Turkish provinces of Kahramanmarash and Hatay, which were most affected by the natural disaster. The most destructive earthquake in the history of Turkey with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred on February 6. It was followed by a series of tremors that affected neighboring countries. The last ones were felt in Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Cyprus.
