US President Joe Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Russia did not provide US security guarantees for the American leader during his trip to Ukraine. It is reported by RBC.
“No guarantees,” he said. According to Sullivan, Washington notified Moscow about Biden’s trip, but the Russian side “did not give an answer, apart from acknowledging receipt of the notification.”
“We passed this information on. They confirmed they received it. And period,” said a Biden adviser.
The provision of security guarantees to Biden was also denied by the head of the Russian FSB, Alexander Bortnikov.
The fact that the Russian side gave Biden some kind of “guarantee of safety” before arriving in Kyiv was reported by the deputy head of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev. “Biden, having previously received guarantees of safety, finally went to Kyiv.
