Russian President Vladimir Putin, during his message to the Federal Assembly, proposed to additionally index the minimum wage (minimum wage) in 2023 by 10%. As a result, the minimum wage will increase by 18.5% and amount to 19,242 rubles, he explained.
In addition, the President said that social tax deductions will be increased in the country, allowing to return part of the money spent by taxpayers on the education and training of children, as well as treatment and the purchase of medicines. The size of the social tax deduction for the cost of educating children should be increased from the current 50,000 rubles to 110,000 rubles a year. And in terms of expenses for their own education, as well as for treatment and the purchase of medicines – from 120 thousand to 150 thousand rubles.
The Russian leader also said that the state maternity capital program will be expanded to residents of new regions of the country: the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Parents of children born since 2007, that is, from the year when the program was launched in the country, will be able to apply for maternity capital.
In addition, Putin announced the decision to extend the social gasification program to social facilities: kindergartens and schools, clinics, hospitals, medical and obstetric stations. For citizens, such a program will now operate on an ongoing basis.
In turn, the head of the RF Ministry of Finance, Anton Siluanov, said that the initiatives announced by President Putin would be fully funded. According to him, “inAll this has been calculated, all this is included in the resources that are currently being provided for the development of new subjects of the Russian Federation.” Siluanov added that additional funding in this area is not required, “there is no talk of raising taxes this year.”
