An avalanche that descended near the village of Krasnaya Polyana in Sochi damaged a gas pipeline and two main water conduits. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Krasnodar Territory.
“As a result, the low-pressure gas pipeline was damaged. The gas has been shut off,” the report says. It is clarified that there is no power supply interruption.
In addition, according to the information of the Gazprom resort, due to heavy snowfall, snow fell from the roof of one of the restaurants. “There were several people nearby, everything is fine with them. The services of the resort are continuously working to clear the snow,” the press service said.
The avalanche descended on the bobsleigh track in the mountains of Sochi on February 20. According to the situational center of the Sochi Vodokanal, tons of snow mass descended damaged two main water conduits transporting the resource to the Olympic Village. The infrastructure of the bobsleigh track was also damaged. There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
