These are the 10 best universities to study in 2022, according to US News & World Report

In total 1,750 institutions make up this ranking.

There are several lists where higher education institutions are classified according to different parameters, these become a source of pride for the universities that highlight the ranking they occupy on their portals.

US News & World Report presented its eighth annual ranking of the best universities globally with thirteen indicators that measure performance in academic research and global and regional reputation. In addition to the United States, there are ninety other countries that were evaluated.

“Students can use these rankings to explore higher education options that exist beyond the borders of their own countries and to compare key aspects of schools’ research missions,” the portal specified.

These are the best universities in the country for 2022, according to the QS ranking

The list is made up of 1,750 universities, 250 more than the last classification. In a first step, a group of 1,849 universities was created that was used to rank the top 1,750.

After this, thirteen indicators with a specific percentage were also taken into account:

  • Global Research Reputation (12.5%)
  • Regional research reputation (12.5%)
  • Publications (10%)
  • Books (2.5%)
  • Conferences (2.5%)
  • Normalized citation impact (10%)
  • Total citations (7.5%)
  • Number of publications that are among the 10% most cited (12.5%)
  • Percentage of total publications that are in the top 10% (10%)
  • International collaboration – relative to country (5%)
  • International collaboration (5%)
  • Number of highly cited articles that are among the top 1% cited in their respective field (5%)
  • Percentage of total publications that are among the 1% of the most cited articles (5%)

In the ranking there are no Ecuadorian universities and at the Latin American level, the first places are occupied by the University of Sao Paulo (Brazil), the State University of Campinas (Brazil) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Chile).
