Last Tuesday, February 14, the maximum temperature value of plus 3.5 degrees Celsius was noted in St. Petersburg. This was told by the chief forecaster of St. Petersburg Alexander Kolesov.

In general, according to him, in the first half of February, the weather in the city was so calm that there was nothing to highlight except for the storm on the 10th.

As Kolesov noted, the average air temperature in St. Petersburg for 15 days in February was minus 1.4 degrees. For example, in 2016 for the same period the temperature was plus 1.0 degrees, in 2012 it was cold, and the average temperature reached minus 15.9 degrees.

Precipitation fell 21 mm, which is 59% of the norm, and the sun shone for 15.3 hours. For example, in the same 2012, the sun shone in the first half of the month for 45.7 hours.

The minimum value of air temperature in St. Petersburg – minus 11.1 degrees was noted on February 12, the maximum value – plus 3.5 degrees – on February 14.

“The sun is rising higher and higher, already significantly affecting the daytime temperature. Therefore, the daily variation in air temperature is becoming more and more noticeable, and on quiet, clear days, we will already feel it. But let’s not relax yet, it’s still winter. On weekends, snow and a slight frost are not canceled, ”Kolesov added.
