Doctors have chosen the optimal and only possible treatment regimen for figure skater Roman Kostomarov in order to save his life. This was announced to TASS by a resuscitator, director of the NMIC “Treatment and Rehabilitation Center” of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsarenko. According to him, there is now a clear positive trend.
He recalled that by the end of the first day of the patient’s stay in Kommunarka, he and several other specialists were connected to the treatment of Roman Kostomarov.
According to Tsarev, all the tactics of treating Kostomarov, which is currently being used, is the only possible one, but “has a price.” The expert added that not all threats have been removed yet, but there is a serious chance that the patient will survive.
Recall that Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia, he began to have complications associated with circulatory disorders and sepsis. First, the skater was connected to an ECMO machine, and then he was transferred to artificial lung ventilation.
On February 7, RIA Novosti, citing a source, wrote that part of one leg was amputated to the athlete. TASS reported that both feet had to be amputated, “there is a struggle for hands.” Telegram channel 112 reported that Kostomarov’s left foot was amputated, and the heel and some fingers were removed on the right.
