A 24-year-old young man was murdered on the night of this Tuesday, February 14, in the Unión de Bananeros cooperative, in Guasmo, south of Guayaquil.
The now deceased was inside a food store when the perpetrators arrived on a motorcycle and shot the man, identified as Luis Fernando Quiñónez, who had no criminal record.
The victim was taken to a health home, where the death was confirmed due to the four gunshot wounds with which he arrived.

In addition, yesterday afternoon another man was riddled with bullets on 28th and Ch streets, southwest of the city. The deceased today, 29 years old, did have a criminal record.
According to Police records, from January 1 to February 12 of this year, of 237 violent deaths perpetrated in Zone 8 (Guayaquil, Durán and Samborondón), in 211 cases the victims had no criminal record.
As in the case of Guasmo, the hitmen rode a motorcycle and attacked the man with firearms.

When he realized the presence of his attackers, he tried to flee; he ran a few meters, but was hit by the antisocials.
Apparently, the victim consumed and sold controlled substances.
