Héctor Benito Macías Solís, 62, was shot and killed when he was at a fruit stand in the La América sector of the San Juan parish in the Puebloviejo canton, in Los Ríos. The event occurred on the morning of this Friday 12.
According to police inquiries, the victim was shot at least eleven times in different parts of his body by a subject who was moving with another individual on a motorcycle. After the fact, both fled the scene.

Several citizens alerted the Police of that jurisdiction of the crime. Upon arrival, the agents of special units collected evidence at the site in order to clarify this new violent event that mourns a family from the Canton Ventanas, where the victim was from and lived.
The owner of the business stated that recently Héctor Macías was working in that place and minutes before the murder he was getting ready to board the truck in which he was traveling through various sectors of the parish selling the fruits.
He also reported that months ago his collaborator worked as a taxi driver in the Ventanas canton.
The victim’s relatives did not want to speak to the media about his death.
The body was taken to the Babahoyo morgue for the respective autopsy. (I)
