The municipal company reported that these trips will continue for the following weekends, free of charge, until commercial operations begin, scheduled for mid-March.
The trains were almost full, the users who were part of this familiarization plan of the project went mostly to the historic center of the capital. Several commercial premises, cafeterias and restaurants have extended their opening hours to receive visitors.
The museums also joined this journey called “To the Center by Metro”. The San Francisco station was the stage for plays with characters from the past who received the passengers.

Shirley Miranda went with her family to the historic center, toured the historic buildings and, in passing, enjoyed the Municipal Band that played on the corner of Sucre and García Moreno streets.
“It is impressive how we can move around the city so quickly with the Quito Metro,” he said.
From Monday 13 to Thursday 16 February, free travel will remain suspended due to internal technical-operational actions.
