River flood drags vehicle with seven occupants, in Morona Santiago

A vehicle was swept away by the rising Tutanangoza River, in the town of Sucúa, in the province of Morona Santiago.

According to preliminary reports from emergency agencies, there were seven people in the car involved.

Witnesses indicated that the Jeep-type vehicle was left in the middle of the tributary. The occupants and people who were in the vicinity of the river asked the inhabitants of the area for support to try to help those affected.

Firefighters and the Ministry of Public Health teams mobilized to the site to provide support in the emergency.

Between firefighters, police officers and citizens of the area, four people were rescued until tonight, the Risk Management Service reported.

The Ministry of the branch detailed that three people were given the respective medical attention.

Sucúa Firefighters remain in search of the other three people.

The Risk Management Service indicated that due to the recent rains the overflow of the Tutanangoza River occurred. (YO)
