An explosion and subsequent bullet attack left two dead and one injured in the rural town of Ricaurte, located in the jurisdiction of San Lorenzo del Pailón, on the northern border of Esmeraldas.
This attack was reported from the population to the integrated service of ECU911 and to the San Lorenzo del Pailón Police, around 10:30 p.m. this Sunday the 12th.
The incident frightened the inhabitants of this rural border parish.
Witnesses revealed that several subjects, wearing military-style clothing and wearing hoods, arrived at the center of the town, which is characterized by having few rustic wood and cement houses.
The unknown persons would have been armed with rifles and explosives, according to a witness who forced her to enter her home.
These individuals arrived at a house, where they took two men out into the street and shot them multiple times, a police report indicated.
One of the victims was identified as Andrés Alberto Franco, 38 years old, Colombian nationality and another deceased person, their names were not yet known until last night.

A relative of one of the deceased told the investigating agents that she arrived from Colombia three days ago and stayed at an uncle’s house in Ricaurte.
This person was with a woman and a man at home, when they heard an explosion at the back of the house.
The unknown persons reportedly told the two women to remain silent and then took Andrés Franco and the unidentified person, who was known as “Mexicano,” out onto the street..
The corpses were left lying on the floor, with various wounds produced by the passage of a firearm projectile in different areas of the body, the report indicated.
The bodies of the victims were transferred to the Esmeraldas forensic center.

Residents of Ricaurte maintained that a woman had died as a result of the explosion, but the Directorate of Violent Deaths only had the record of one injured person until last night.
The explosion destroyed the front of a two-story house through which the unidentified subjects entered.
For now, the military patrols the town of Ricaurte, as it is presumed that this violent act was committed by a criminal group.
