People were waiting for the attention of the Cununyacu spa, located in the Tumbaco parish, in the northeast of Quito, to be reactivated. This was demonstrated on the first day of the reopening of this place, since it received more than a thousand visitors. Long lines of people who arrived on foot were registered at the entrance to this place on Sunday, February 12.

Cununyacu opened its doors after more than three years that it suspended its operations. Municipal authorities delivered this work that had an investment of around $450,000.
The opening hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, from 06:30 to 15:00. Ticket prices are $3.11 for adults; $1.13 for children and $1.58 for seniors or people with disabilities.
To get to this spa, tourists can take the Intervalles road, from the Ruta Viva, or also come from the Chillos valley.
Tourists can find a soccer field, volleyball court, a multipurpose field, seven swimming pools, children’s games, a BBQ area and renovated dressing rooms.

The mayor of Quito, Santiago Guarderas, mentioned that they anticipate that during the carnival two days will be attended for free. The days that users will not have to pay will be informed in advance.
