Limits on electricity consumption in all regions of Ukraine have been lifted, the press service of the state company Ukrenergo has reported on its Telegram channel.
“Thanks to the repair work and the commissioning of two NPP units, as well as a decrease in consumption on a day off, there is no power shortage in the energy system. Consumption limits for the day on February 12 were not set,” the statement said.
Ukrenergo noted that the removal of consumption limits applies only to February 12. “With the beginning of the working week and the growth in consumption characteristic of it, restrictions may return,” the company said.
At the same time, electricity consumption remains significant due to lower temperatures, although less than on a weekday. The company added that with an increase in consumption, emergency shutdowns can be applied – primarily in Odessa, Kyiv, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr regions and in Kyiv.
In addition, the company reported that, in addition to its own generation, Ukraine continues to import electricity from abroad.
